No phone, no email, no internet

This is how my morning started at work.... so I called my boss on the mobile, and he called Telstra, and they tell him that it might be fixed by the 31st... WTF????

So once my boss finally shows at work, he finds out that that a business down the road was broken into last night, and that the nasty theives opened up the Telstra thing in the ground out the front, and cut the phone lines.... so not only were their lines cut, but ours aswell.

So after much fucking around we got a mobile phone happening for work for call diversion, and then just 10mins ago, the ADSL line has been fixed... hence the post, and soon the other lines will be fixed and we will be back to normal.

Its amazing how much we have come to depend on these three items within the work place.... I found plenty to do, but I couldn't email or fax and order, so had to do it over the phone... which can be complicated in my industry. So its nice to be back to normal, and be able to check email and of course BLOG!!!

Hopefully everything will be all go for tomorrow.... and back to normal life!!

I hate it so much when I can't access the net! I go into town and find a hotspot now! No way will I ever be out of the loop!

What did we ever do before even the mobile phone? I mean, fancy going out and using a pay phone to call someone! How archaic!

But seriously, modern technology relies too much on the telephone. When we lose power to our office (frequently in summer) we even lose the phone. Lights, phone, computer, all gone. Not to mention air conditioner...now that's fun! xx
