Cat update

Well, Gemi was much more mellow when I got home this arvo. Still in the same position, but accepting of pats and actually got a purr outa him. I still took him to the vet, and she couldn't find anything physically wrong (except having a weird set of back legs), and thinks that he has just been mentally traumatised by the other cat being in the house.

My theory is that the feral chased Gemi into the house and taunted him... and thats why Gemi is so stressed out. The vet thinks that the feral would have been pretty shaken up aswell, and that it is unlikely to come back.

So we're on the hunt for a cat door that will only let my cats into the house (they have special magnets on their collars which will lock and unlock the door). I expect that will be expensive... but I don't want to go through another situation like yesterday.

So time for bed now..... its been a long day, and I'm looking forward to culing up in bed and listening to the rain..... .

Lazy girl & cat dramas

Yep, thats me. I didn't go to the gym last night - I just couldn't be bothered - and I worked back late, so by the time I finally got out of work it was 6pm.

When I got home, I walked in the door to hear my cat Chilli yowlling at something in the spare room. So I went and shut the back screen door, cause I didn't want Chilli to go back outside - and this other cat comes flying out of the room into the laundry and start climbing the screen door while Chilli is still yowling at him - I'm freaking out and even opened the door so the cat would go outside a fuck off, but it ended up running back into the bedroom.

I hussled Chilli into the study and shut the door, and went and opened the laundry door - and somehow without me seeing, the feral cat escaped out the back door (thank god). All I could hear was my other cat Gemi growling under the bed, and I thought it was the feral, cause I didn't see it escape.

ANYWAY, I let Chilli back out and fed the cats, but didn't take too much notice of Gemi, as he is usually fine. But a few hours later I hadn't seen Gemi (he is usually a very loving, give me pats cat), and I found him curled up behind the computer in the study. Just before Andrew and I left to take him to work, Gemi wandered out of the study, belly low to the ground making these awful growling and yowling noises.... I tried to pat him but the noises got worse and worse. He jumped on the spare bed, and everytime I patted him he would yowl and he even hissed at me.

By this time I was starting to wonder if the feral cat had attacked Gemi and chased him into the spare room. Gemi seemed to growl more when I touched around the back of his leg, but I couldn't actually see anything wrong.

So I left him to sleep, and this morning he was in the exact same position as last night, and I almost thought he was dead, cause it took him a few prods by me to move. Then the yowling and growling started again, and all I was doing was giving him a scratch where he likes it around his cheeks.

This is all rather traumatising for me, and makes me cry cause my cat has NEVER acted like this towards me before - EVER. (I'm tearing up now). I think he is severly traumatised from the feral cat being in the house, and I think he is hurt. I'm taking him to the vet tonight...

I'm so sad about this, as Gemi and I have been through a lot together, and he is my first ever cat, and he is my boy. And for him to yowl, and growl and hiss at me for being nice to him kills me. So hopefully he will be OK. Both cats are banished to inside today, not even Chilli is going out.

can't think of a title

I didn't have that nap yesterday - I just had a coffee and got stuck into work. And no Froggy, I didn't get the family helping with the house - mum offered but dad said NO, and that we have to do it ourselves... was rather funny really. Was nice to see my sister though, and show off our house.

No gym last night - headache was just nasty all day - it was from the way I was lying on the couch watching harry potter on Sat night and I hurt my neck....I'll give it a few days and I should be OK. Still downing the panadol this morning though.

So tonight I will go to the gym and do my own session on the spin bike - I seem to enjoy that more than the classes, and I push myself just as hard if not harder.

My birthday is in about 3 weeks (bloody 32), and I have requested a polar heart rate monitor from Andrew. I really want to know what sort of rate I'm achieveing when I do a step class, or on the spin bike.

Last night I went on the eating binge from hell.... it was shocking. So the curbing of boredom eating has not happened as yet... I WILL TRY harder tonight.

OHHHHH... Big brother has started... It was a rather entertaining first show.... not sure what it will be like this year, but I'm a voyeur at heart, and love this show... and love watching and analysing people - I should have been a shrink!!!

Back to work

I didn't get a chance to post any piccy's of the undercoating. We finally got it all finished last night at about 6pm (i did some edging during commercial breaks of the biggest loser). So next weekend, we are going to put on the colour. We just have to go choose it first!!

So the weekend was really busy. Had a crappy sleep last night - and woke this morning with a shocking headache. Feeling really really tired. THink I might have to go for coffee number 2 already, and a Neuofen plus.

I'm going to try to get to the gym tonight - after the crap I ate on the weekend - I NEED to go. I'll just see how my headache is and how tired I feel. Looking forward to having the bed to myself tonight - Andrew having a cold certainly hasn't made for easy sleeping.

Speaking of sleeping - I should just have a little nap right now.....

WE HATE CEILINGS

As you can see.... the ceiling
Oh what a sexy painter boy
The hard workers.
What a hairdo hey??
So today was ceiling painting. THAT SUCKED!!! It was a hard job cause the ceiling was already white and painting white over the top was difficult cause we couldn't see where we'd been. And the ceiling absorbed the paint really well - we had to go buy another tin... as we were running out. The man at the paint shop said that the ceiling probably hadn't been painted for a fair while - thats why it sucked up so much paint.
So tomorrow is undercoat on the walls... and maybe the feature wall.
But tonight is Harry Potter and then bed. Its bloody cold here tonight.

Progress....

So this is the dreaded border - this was around all the top of the lounge room walls.

Once we started pulling it off we were left with the underneath gluey part of the border stuck to the paint. VERY time consuming to sponge down and scrape off.
YAY!!! Finally finished cleaning down all the walls an removing the border.
Patching up holes and uneven areas on the walls.
Once we got up close to the walls is became apparent how badly the walls were actually painted. It appears that there was only 1 coat of the yucky green paint..... So at least we are going the whole hog... cleaning, undercoat, and 2 coats of the finaly colour.... which my friends is going to be blue.
So tomorrow will be undercoat and ceiling. I will post some piccy's of our nice white room tomorrow of Sunday! Phew... feeling buggered now!

End of week already!!

What a quick week! Gotta love the public holiday on the Friday. Tomorrow we have a visit happening from mum, dad, my sister from Melb and her girlfriend. They are looking forward to seeing the house. I'm going to get dad to bring over his sander aswell so we can sand back some of the filling in of the holes we have to do.

So a busy weekend planned. I'll post some before and after photos on Sunday. I really hope we get as far at the ceiling painted and the undercost on the walls. I have a feeling its going to be a few weeks before the final colour goes on... but thats the thing with working full time - not enough time to do anything!!

And I stil have to finish my assignment tonight - should be fairly straight forward though....

Have a good weekend!
